Thanks for the post. I tried a Velocity Cruz Reader. I have posted it elsewhere on the forum. Unfortunately the screen just was not clear enough for reading on. I fear the PocketBook IQ will be of similar quality. This might not be for me.

I will hold off, and maybe the NookColor will be the choice die to the better screen.

Many thanks the PBIQ does look good however.

the IQ, Cruz, and Pandigital Novel aren't just similar, they are the same hadware. If you don't like one of their screens, you won't like the others.

Olivetree works quite well on my 8" Android... but after trying-out about ten Bibles, it isn't at the top of my list. For some reason they have not offered the same features and quality which they are known for on other platforms. It's not a bad app, but if you are accustomed to Olivetree on other platforms, you might be disappointed in it.

Agreed. Cadrebible is much better. But Olivetree are working on Biblereader 5 for Android, which promises to be much better. Currently the fonts offered in Biblereader 4 are poor and the hyperlink touch spots are hard to locate on the NC. Not a pleasant experience.

Laridian and Logos are working on new versions also.

Thanks for the post.

I have a 10" android tablet and currently use the Olivetree software.

It works fine, but I am waiting for Laridian to get their android software out the door. I used their software back when I had my Sony Clie palm device and loved it. I have not found any other software for android that can match it, that does not mean it is not out there; I just have not found it.

I do not have the users manual in front of me right now, but I think that you may need to have a SD card recognized (either internal like wheatfree has, or a regular plug in external slot) in order to properly store and retrieve the bibles, but again, I am only making a "best guess".

I totally agree with your statement. Totally.

But I have found the best alternative to Laridian, which I'm using while waiting for their release. It's a free app called "BibleScope". It offers two viewing panes for cross-reference study, plus it also allows Strongs references to pop-up over the second pane. It operates quite well on my Android tablet.

Biblescope looks interesting, but can not find it for free on the google market. Did you get it from there?

Unless I missed something it is one book at a time, not like the pocket pc version that allows multiple windows. Works well as does Cadre on the pandigital novel.

Have had both working on a smartq v5 as well if anyone might have one and need to know.

My son uses Cadre on an Archos 7 as well.

(NOTE: I have also posted this in another forum, but felt it was just as appropriate and beneficial here.)

I now have a new champ Bible app which I use most of the time. It is AndBible (Android Bible).
I also have it installed on my HTC phone. This is the only app I've ever tried which seems to work better on my tablet than on the phone!
One beauty of this app is it's apparent simplicity which in actuality offers quite a bit of power. It offers the one screen/window where your Bible text displays, but in the upper right corner you have two buttons which offer other Bible versions on one and Commentaries on the other. Tapping either button allows an instantaneous scrolling between all the Bibles or Commentaries you have installed. It's so much quicker and easier than the offering from OliveBible.

My neighbor was just asking me about ereaders yesterday, and her intention was to find something for mostly reading the Bible....

So this thread was very informative, she is kind of leaning towards a kindle, though I told her if I could do it again I would have gone with an android slate instead of the dedicated ereader route...

Anyway I started to look up links to go with the apps mentioned in this thread and tacked on stuff that popped up along the way plus some screensavers and trivia that a co-worker had me find for her years ago so thought someone could use the links:
