Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can't Stop Talking
This looks interesting, I've not read it but just added it to my wish-list:

Not sure but I think it was nominated in the club for non-fiction month. It's been in my TBR list for quite some time. The price has come down enough for me but don't want to buy at the moment as I have so much to read from the kindle sale.

Yes, it was nominated for the book club some time last year. It immidiately sparked my interest, so I put myself on the wait list for it on Overdrive. I did sort of read it when I finally got it, but I found myself resorting to speed reading more and more as the book went on.
Interesting topic though, and I might go back to it some other time and with better timing enjoy it more. |

Thanks Freeshadow, being a life-long introvert I like to keep tabs on them.
I find most psychological/sociological phenomena extremely interesting, particularly introversion, mind/brain, Intelligence, etc. etc. I almost became a psychologist before moving into engineering. |

An introverted friend recently linked me to a brief YouTube video based on this book, when attempting to explain introverted behaviour to me:

Seems to me, at least based on the description of "introvert" I got out of the Myers-Briggs test, that in some ways the title is relying on a misunderstanding of what introverts are.
I can absolutely talk your head off. And with close friends, there are days I will! But I was stunned when my Myers-Briggs test results strongly put me in the introvert category. It stressed where you get your energy. And I fit the introvert in so many ways (prefer to read over parties, go home to recharge rather than going to a party to wind up, etc). I can only say, THIS introvert can be pretty doggone noisy in the right situation. |

Following this forum and noticing that 90 percent here call themselves "introverts" made me at least doubting any definition of extroverts/introverts.

And the shy?
How are they classified? Always introverts? A person may be shy in new company, but boisterous and 'themselves' in known company. |
