astak ezreader, read-only filesystem

hi all!

i have gotten an astak ezreader, eb-06ez, and i cannot transfer any files to it! i have plugged it into my linux pc and the device turns on and i press OK to initiate the connection. then, i see the internal memory is automatically mounted on /media/disk, and i can see the files stored in the ezreader... the user guide and the free books that came with it. but... the file-system is read-only! i can't make any changes, like copying my own ebooks to it! anyone know what's up? how to mount the file-system read-write?

thanks.

what does dmesg say when the intermal memory is being mounted?
afaik, if there are too many fs errors, it will be mounted ro.

My simple solution, it may works.

connect to Windows
check to see removable drive with no OS
format internal drive carefully

ok thanks, i tried that and i can write to the filesystem now, but the ezreader cannot read anything i've written! when i turn on the ezreader, it doesn't show any of the files... all it has is "recent files" or whatever. if i plug back into the computer, i can see all of the data is still there..

so, it seems, i can write to the filesystem fine now, but the ezreader is no longer reading it.. haha.

By any chance, did you format it FAT32 instead of FAT16?

i tried both actually, FAT first, and then FAT32, and then back to FAT with a full format instead of quick... same behavior.
