What converter software to use?

Hi,
I am new to dedicated ebook readers and purchased a M218B from Shenzhen without verifying how it will handle the ebooks I already have. I have many ebooks from Fictionwise and BooksonBoard which are either in .pdb,.prc,.mobi and pdf formats.
I found that this ebook reader is not very good with pdf format but is okay with txt files. Can anyone recommend an easy to comprehend converter software for this computer-illiterate newbie? Many thanks in advance.
