Nexus 10 problems
Hi folks,
I'm a 73 year old wanna-be geek so I really don't know what I'm doing. Did an upgrade from Ubuntu 12.04 to 14.04 and now Calibre 1.48 does not show my Nexus 10. Have attached debug detection. Any help would be fantastic. Thank you.calibre 1.48 isfrozen: True is64bit: True Linux-3.13.0-34-generic-x86_64-with-debian-jessie-sid Linux ('64bit', 'ELF') ('Linux', '3.13.0-34-generic', '#60-Ubuntu SMP Wed Aug 13 15:45:27 UTC 2014') Python 2.7.5 Linux: ('debian', 'jessie/sid', '') USB devices on system: [['0x3f0', '0x4512', '0x100', u'HP', u'Officejet 6500 E709n', u'TH03K221Y605G2'], ['0x45e', '0x9d', '0x41', u'Microsoft', u'Microsoft Wireless Optical Desktop\xae 2.10', u''], ['0x46d', '0xc52b', '0x1201', u'Logitech', u'USB Receiver', u''], ['0x18d1', '0x4ee1', '0x226', u'samsung', u'Nexus 10', u'R32CB06ZD6D']] No disabled plugins Looking for devices of type: MTP_DEVICE MTP devices connected: USBDevice(busnum=2, devnum=7, vendor_id=0x18d1, product_id=0x4ee1, bcd=0x0226, manufacturer=samsung, product=Nexus 10, serial=R32CB06ZD6D) Trying to open: USBDevice(busnum=2, devnum=7, vendor_id=0x18d1, product_id=0x4ee1, bcd=0x0226, manufacturer=samsung, product=Nexus 10, serial=R32CB06ZD6D) Opening device failed: Traceback (most recent call last): File "site-packages/calibre/devices/mtp/unix/driver.py", line 127, in debug_managed_device_detection File "site-packages/calibre/devices/mtp/driver.py", line 123, in open File "site-packages/calibre/devices/mtp/base.py", line 24, in synchronizer File "site-packages/calibre/devices/mtp/unix/driver.py", line 196, in open OpenFailed: Failed to open USBDevice(busnum=2, devnum=7, vendor_id=0x18d1, product_id=0x4ee1, bcd=0x0226, manufacturer=samsung, product=Nexus 10, serial=R32CB06ZD6D): Error: Unable to open raw device. @jahughes41
This is an issue with calibre, not Android. A moderator has now moved this thread to the appropriate forum, for better visibility. Hopefully you will get an answer now. |

Run
calibre-debug -d in a terminal and post the output Also most likely this is a permissions issue, you can check that by running calibre as root and seeing if it connects to your device. |
