I'd like to nominate The Fairy Godmother by Mercedes Lackey. It's the first book in Five Hundred Kingdoms series.

Elena Klovis was supposed to be her kingdom's Cinderella -- the mistreated stepsister who fatefully falls in love with a prince, marries him, and lives happily ever after -- except that the prince is only a child! I should provide a brief synopsis of the book I nominated, Return to Wonderland, so here goes:

This time it's her daughter Calie who falls through the rabbit hole to that dark realm of unmitigated horror and madness known as Wonderland to come face to face with her family's dire destiny.
