eBook lending subsections

I dont know why it hasn't happened already, especially when the nook and kindle support it.
Members are referencing folks to other forums where they can try to borrow ebooks... why not keep everyone here

Perhaps a Lend/Borrow subforum is in order

No, we don't want to get involved in that. Arranging such things by PM is one thing. Using the MR forums for such a purpose is not something we're willing to countenance.

What Harry is saying is that MobileRead does not support activities that are deemed to be copyright violations, therefore we will not have forums to offer to break the law. This kind of thing is subject to take down notices.

There's no copyright violation involved - lending is perfectly "legit" on both the nook and the Kindle. The mod team has discussed this issue, though, and come to the conclusion that we don't want MR to be used as a "lending library". There are a number of web sites that have been set up specifically for this purpose; I'd suggest using one of those.

Actually, Goodreads has a lending group for the K3. No idea bout the nook. But I would think so. What someone suggested in the K3 group is to put all your lendable eBooks in a self called lending so others can see what it is you have available to lend.

But, from what I see, most eBooks for the K3 won't be lendable. I doubt the Agency 5 will go for it. So given that Amazon is allowing for lending opt-out, lending won't be all that useful.
