In case anyone is curious about the Fire HD's competition from B & N, CNET has a quick look at the new line of Nook tablets.

If B & N had something that worked as well as Whispersync for maintaining last page read, annotations and bookmarks across devices, I'd be interested. In any case, looks like a nice piece of hardware.
