Well, now...
I don't think a $49 K4 is a foolish buy. There's always something better just around the corner: non-fools buy what they need when they need it. Admitedly, if you don't need it right away, it is foolish to buy any electronic gadget to stash it in a closet for months. But even the fabled "Nite-lite Kindle" is 6 to 8 weeks away; you can read a lot of books in two months... |

'Great new ones'? All they say is that there is a rumor about a 'backlit' Kindle coming out.
You'd be a fool not to buy an ereader now if you want one now. And if you decide to wait, you can wait forever because there is always something better beyond the horizon. |

Yeah, it'd be foolish to buy one now. You could be reading on something better sometime this summer! Or, ah, you could be reading on one next week, for under $100, with better technology than those fools that bought one three years ago. Or five years ago. Or ten years ago.
If a crucial feature to you is about to go live, then sure, you should wait. However, if you're just waiting for "the best" ereader... might as well stick with paper for another decade; the tech is new and constantly changing, and it really is going to be a while before we sort out what hardware and software features are "best" in the long run. (It says, "Amazon is set to release its own backlit E Ink-based Kindle this summer." Somehow, I doubt that, and I can't think much of any guide to technology that misrepresents the hardware that badly. However, it is Fox news, so I suppose they get points for correctly spelling "Kindle.") |

Entirely depends on price point, 50-100€ for a reader isn't so bad that extra for new model and waiting offsets it. If we were talking on couple hundred euro range it would be different story...

There's always something new just about to come out. E-readers remain serviceable for a good bit of time, so new tech isn't worth waiting for, imo. I'm still happily reading on my DXG despite the advances Kindle has made since then. ^.^
Also, Fox News sucks. |

Or any other outlet.
They are all for sale, all have bias, all cut intellectual corners, and are unrepentant. You have just as much chance of finding salient information and opinions on facebook or YouTube...which also suck. Woe is us. |

My next eReader will be absolutely GREAT! Or else there will be no next eReader, (well) unless my old device fails.
It must: 1. Be a Kindle 2. Have some kind of integrated lighted screen. 3. Have an SD or micro SD card slot. 4. Be at least eInk. 5. Have a 6" or 7" screen Plus's would be: 1. 3G 2. color eInk. 3. a 6" screen. (I like that size for portability.) 4. if gray eInk, then more shades. 5. more and more battery life 6. more memory 7. a replaceable battery. (about AAA size) 8. I would accept a part of the bottom of one end to be slightly thicker for a battery compartment and a regular USB plug. I probably forgot something. |

For those above choking on Fox News, at least it wasn't "smoking gun" ABC, or a "doctored 911 call" MSNBC or "Dan Rather" on CBS.
That leaves CNN and someone probably has a beef with them. If you don't believe the story, fine, make a statement, but lets leave the sources alone or the moderators will tell us to take it over to the door behind the curtain. |
