error opening a LIT file
I have several LIT I was converting but in one of those I get this error:
calibre, version 0.9.26
ERROR: Could not open ebook: Extra closing tag None at 4371

It could be a corrupted LIT file.

It is a corrupted lit file. You'll have to obtain it in another format.

Have you tried How to Convert an MS Lit File to Html

Calibre can read & convert HTML - and if there's a problem with it, then someone conversant with HTML can probably help to straighten it out.

If that doesn't work search the web with "convert lit file" and you'll find some other alternatives

MS Reader is known to read some LIT that are corrupt.
