Why have you not chosen to use a tablet for reading?
I'll start the discussion by saying that the primary reason that I chose not to use a tablet is the battery life. I can be out and about for some very long times with my ereader.

battery life, too heavy, can't read out of doors or in strong light.

Reasons 1, 2 and 3 are weight. 4 is battery life, and equal 5th LCD/eyestrain issues and reading in sunlight.

It doesn't feel like a book at all.

Having said that, I do read on a tablet now and then, but not long sessions and usually not book with just text in them. Last edited by Asawi; 05-04-2013 at 09:37 AM. |

I look at a computer screen all day for my work. I don't want to look at a computer screen for my leisure reading. There are other reasons, but that's #1.

The tablet screen hurts my eyes for long-form text reading. I use my tablet for magazines, comics and graphic-heavy material, but I only read those for short periods.

Because my eyes hurt and tear up when I try to read on a tablet. I just cannot read on anything that is backlit. Reading fiction that is, which is different from browsing and such or playing games.
So yeah, I must have an ereader to read. Literally. Battery life, reading outdoors etc is all secondary. If I can't read the words, then none of that would matter anyway. |

I don't like reading novels on anything self-illuminated. Also can't be too close to distractions. I use my ipad mini as a web portal and nothing else.

I only read on my tablet at the gym while on the treadmill. That way I don't have to hold it, I'm there for for 60minutes, and I have a large enough screen to increase the font enough.
Other than that, I like my e-ink. |

No particular reason. I just use my tablet for other things.
