Yes, but-- no offense intended-- it is a real dark, murky photo that is in serious need of post-processing before showing it to everyone (thus my small attempt to correct it a bit-- but it still is too dark to pull out detail in some areas-- is that black blob on the pillow a cat?)

wow 15 yards for unnecessary harshness!
I could see it was a cat from frame one! and it seems to be a cat that lords it over the poor evicted puppy! |

It isn't "harshness"-- I tried to actually help him (or her?) by fixing the photo.
Which is better-- to pretend that a bad looking photo is good just to be nice, or to actually try to make it look somewhat good? If you have a camera, learn to use all the settings on it. If the photo still doesn't turn out right, learn to fix it! |

Look, just because you are attached to a subject does not mean that quality doesn't count. Two of the most common things on the internet are bad poems written by people who think they are good because they are emotionally attached to the subject and bad snapshots of their kids and pets that they think are good because they are of their kids and pets. You may think that attachment to the subject matter means that there is no need to make your work presentable. I think if it is worth sharing, it is worth fixing. |

ever hear the one about if you haven't anything nice to say, best not to say anything at all? this is one of those cases. this person came in here with a lighthearted "let's do something" like many other people have with other games etc. they weren't asking for a critique of their photography skills, they just wanted to goof around. if there's stuff in the LOUNGE especially that you don't care to look at or participate in, just move on out of the way.
if you want to hold a photoshop 101 thread, then knock yourself out. other than that, keep it to yourself |
