Converting Comics to Epub?

Does anyone have any tips regarding this? I've done so easily when converting cbr to pdf, but the navigation screen is way too sluggish, and I want to create a merged file with the comics.

However, when viewing the resulting epub with Adobe Digital Editions, the left side of the image as well as the bottom is cut off.

Does anyone know how I can prevent this?

So.. uh.. No advice? I'm not going to read these in pdf since the pages are sluggish.
