It's referring to the small page numbers seen in right margin for non-Kobo EPUBs.

Excellent update! Those page numbers on the right-hand side were annoying, and love being able to finally use the dictionary.

Works for me - good job Kobo dev team!
I did notice those little page numbers in the margin - they didn't bother me, but they are redundant.

Love the new update, all the features work great...

Wish it were possible to reduce the line height more, or in proportion to the text size. Given a book that is formatted such that text size is less than 1em, even the smallet line-height setting in Kobo looks double-spaced.

I suppose leaving a copy of the firmware downloaded on the computer was just far too convenient. *sigh*... for those interested in saving a copy of this update (In case you want to go back to it in the future, for example, or to update a Touch without having to sync to an account), you can snag a copy from the .kobo directory *before* you eject the kobo being updated.

This might help:
http://blog.ringerc.id.au/2011/01/ge...date-urls.html

It talks primarily about the Kobo Wifi, but the Touch seems to work as well:
http://download.kobobooks.com/firmwa...rade-1.9.6.zip

Unless this is different from what you find in the .kobo directory?

From scanning through libadobe.so it looks like you adopted something similar to my suggestion (or came up with it on your own, it's fairly obvious).

Code:
Normal··@font-face { font-family: -ua-default; font-style: normal; font-weight: normal; src: url('res:///fonts/normal/%1') }
···@font-face { font-family: -ua-default; font-style: italic; font-weight: normal; src: url('res:///fonts/italic/%1') }
···Bold Italic·@font-face { font-family: -ua-default; font-style: italic; font-weight: bold; src: url('res:///fonts/bolditalic/%1') }
·Bold····@font-face { font-family: -ua-default; font-style: normal; font-weight: bold; src: url('res:///fonts/bold/%1') }
So looking at this, it seems that to get fonts working properly in different styles and weights you need to create the following directories under the fonts folder: normal, italic, bold, bolditalic, and then copy the relevant font files to the correct locations (regular to the normal directory, italic to the italic directory, etc) and that they need to have the same filename in each dir. Is this correct?

I couldn't help noticing a reference to res:///userStyle.css. Does this imply that the default base css can be replaced?

Edit-Does the new kobo desktop app fix the issue with updating original kobo's.I hear it says to update it and it goes so far then stops
Updating Kobo Original is also addressed in the update to the desktop.

No, only use a single directory named fonts

refers to a directory named 'italic' sitting inside the fonts directory, etc.

To get bold and italic working correctly in all the variations you need four different font files. I assume this is the method Kobo has chosen to distinguish which file is which style/weight, since not all fonts will have their Opentype properties correctly specified.

Not so. I did try and none of those fonts in the sub folders show up.

Edit: italics work properly on my side loaded fonts and they are all in the fonts folder

How does one get the upgraded firmware? I have a touch but use Calibre for my library.

Thanks John
