Marking as read/not new

Hey all,
I've transferred my library onto the 650 and i'm wondering if there is a simple way of marking various books as read (i.e. the ones i've already read ) as opposed to opening each one individually?

Cheers!

Opening each one individually is the only way I've figured out.

You may be able to open the books through either the Reader software or Calibre while the Reader is connected to your computer. This may remove the 'New' notation.
