Tom Swift Sr. with his chum Ned Newton. Good enough series to spawn Tom Swift Jr!

Encyclopedia Brown, Danny Dunn, and all the Choose Your Own Adventure books (you could still do those in ebook form... use footnotes for direct linking to pages...)

Walter Farley's "The Black Stallion" and rest of the series.
Clair Bee's "Chip Hilton" sports series. John Blaine's "Rick Brant" science series. (and Hardy Boys, Dave Dawson's, Red Randall's, A Yankee Flyer's) I found on an older cousin's shelf. Last edited by wayspooled; 09-10-2009 at 04:25 AM. |

Oh my. Y'all have done it again. Ok, some of my favorites - I'm sure there's a bunch more that I'll remember later...
Trixie Belden Cherry Ames Nancy Drew Hardy Boys (I read both series indiscriminately, I didn't care that one was supposed to be for boys!) Sue Barton Tobey Heydon The Little House books My Side of the Mountain (nods to Phogg) Operation Knapsacks The Little White Horse anything by Gene Stratton Porter The Secret Garden A Little Princess The Lad, A Dog books by Albert Payson Terhune Last edited by phenomshel; 05-01-2009 at 02:39 AM.
