My Big Fat Greek Travesty
Opening sentence: My mind reeled as I watched my bowling pal, Prometheus, playing with fire with the hoomins on New Year's eve -- wasn't it just a month ago that we were helping Sisyphus with his weekend landscaping project that has since turned into a bit of a chore? ..... Lots of juicy, meaty bits (lamb, mostly) in between. ..... Ending sentence: As Persephone stroked my head lovingly in her lap, we raised our glasses to the passing Sisyphus to congratulate him on the apparent success of his rather unusual exercise program -- but we were promptly distracted by the eagle that flew by on his way to his daily dinner date with Prometheus and I mused momentarily about the wisdom and greatness of The Big Guy for making things so utterly perfect. |

The flaccid-limbed creature with the strangely flabby lips and smelling of uncooked tuna continued its shambling walk toward me, but I found that I must continue to type because I knew that to do otherwise would

In the end though, it is, as the crazy, old woman living in the whale carcass said, "all well and good to toss a zombie chicken into a cauldron of burning oil, but unless you cut out its heart with some enchanted nail-clippers and run it through at midnight under a new moon in late January with a toothpick made of sycamore, then pretty soon that chicken will be back to feast on your brain (or at least peck rather annoyingly at your temple while smelling maddingly southern-fried but which you know you can't eat because the doctor says your cholesterol is way too high as it is from all those vampire-duck-fat-and-mango smoothies you've been chugging)".

"Ok, buddy, dis ain't gonna hurt ya too much," the man with the gun said, aiming at my head as he pulled the trigger.

Back in the familiar comfort of Zelda's cramped Paris apartment, Lefty noticed a loose thread beginning to struggle free of Hugo, but after their recent harrowing experience, knew better than to pull it, focusing instead on the chaos below, softly muttering to himself, as if in meditation, "one, two, four, yellow".
