I'll add that kiwidude is happy to receive code changes. What you suggest seems a reasonable idea to me. If want, you can make the changes yourself. And if you have any questions, there are a few people around who can answer them.

With the latest Calibre, 2.5.0, Count Pages doesn't work properly anymore. It seems it counts now only the number of words and doesn't return the number of pages.

Double check your plugin configuration to make sure the custom columns are named correctly.

I am curious, what did you do to solve the problem? as it seems the plugin is still the same. Just remove word count?

As instructed above by other members, I just pointed Custom Column under Page Count to my custom name (for the column), and leave all other blank (if the custom column under Word Count is also pointed to your custom name (for the column) it will be confused.)

The PI makes no changes to the book or viewers.
It counts and stores those in a configured Custom Column in the DB.

Not working for me again after newest Calibre release. Changed preferences as suggested above and no help. Went back to Calibre 2.0 which for me was most stable and still can't get it back working now. Help would be appreciated.

Also this is a separate issue but now my 'Edit Book' feature stopped working as well, says it's DRM protected and I have all Alf tools!?

@Blue2U: Can you maybe run calibre in debug mode (Preferences | Restart in Debug mode), repeat what you are doing, exit calibre and post the resulting log.

It's impossible for us to help if we don't know what exactly IS happening.

Failed to initialize plugin DeDRM 6.0.1. You do have some other anti-DRM stuff in there that does start up.

Suggestion: remove Alf's plugins and everything else DRM related, find the latest Alf version, and reinstall it. Then reimport the book your having problems with and try to count pages again.
