DatabaseException

Hi guys

Recently (well fairly recently) I started to get an error message dialog box open after I'd had Calibre open for a while.

calibre, version 0.7.54
ERROR: Unhandled exception: <b>DatabaseException</b>:disk I/O error
RemoteTraceback (most recent call last):
File "site-packages\calibre\library\sqlite.py", line 264, in run
File "site-packages\calibre\library\sqlite.py", line 160, in get
OperationalError: disk I/O error

Traceback (most recent call last):
File "site-packages\calibre\gui2\library\models.py", line 413, in current_changed
File "site-packages\calibre\gui2\library\models.py", line 370, in get_book_display_info
File "site-packages\calibre\library\database2.py", line 2335, in get_tags
File "site-packages\calibre\library\sqlite.py", line 304, in run
DatabaseException: disk I/O error
RemoteTraceback (most recent call last):
File "site-packages\calibre\library\sqlite.py", line 264, in run
File "site-packages\calibre\library\sqlite.py", line 160, in get
OperationalError: disk I/O error

I have tried updating; & also:
Uninstalling; deleting that file in the Programs directory & then re-installing.

I've also sacrificed a virgin goat at midnight on the 13th of the month (not sure if I allowed for summer time though).

I can get round it by closing & re-opening it but I would like to try & fix it.

In your reply please be gentle as I'm an elderly, fragile gentleman ...

Kind regards
Larry

You have Disk Drive errors.
Could simply be corruption from a less than Traditional shutdown (I'd say normal, but then I HAVE seen some of what users do ).
Or it could be failing hardware .

You did not say what OS your computer runs, so our answer is Generic
Run you Disk drive error check program (tick fix errors) and follow the messages. (Windows needs to Schedule the program for the Next boot. Reboot as soon as you can). Check the system error logs (seek knowledgeable help if needed)
