Yeah, but the cool thing is that the likelyhood of finding earth-like planets now just seems to be a matter of time and better detection methods.

Agreed. Look back just a decade, to the remake of Battlestar Galactica, and they were seriously talking about there being hardly any water out there in the cosmos. Now we know there's plenty of the stuff. Cause for hope, surely?
