Scandal Sheet, by Gemma Halliday, is Barnes & Noble's Free Fridays book of the week. It's another one of those Dorchester Publishing titles and is the 1st in the series Hollywood Headlines.

Seems to be a combo Mystery/Romance/Comedy like the Christie Craig and Leslie Langtry books Dorchester has previously offered a freebies. For the record, those were generally heavy on the comedy and mishaps, medium on the mystery/suspense, and light-ish on the romantic-ness, for anyone curious who wanted to give them a whirl, but were wary of over-the-top romance-y stuff.

Synopsis
Gossip columnist Tina is stopped in her tracks when she learns one of the celebrities she's reported on wants her dead. Teamed with an oversized bodyguard, a bubbly blonde, and an alcoholic obituary writer, Tina sets off to find out which juicy piece of Hollywood gossip is worth killing over.

While I'm at it, might as well mention some other stuff still free in the B&N store, in case someone missed it. Their official free books page is nearly useless, anyway.
