PRS-950 Calibre not seeing my Sony

I've been trying to figure out Calibre for a while. Sounds like it's a wonderful program & I surely need something to put some order into my Sony library metadata.
I've just realized tonight that it is just not "seeing" my Sony. I took the radical step of actually reading the manual tonight & even though I've walked through the Welcome Wizard & carefully selected my Sony Daily Reader, when I plug my Reader into my laptop (which I've had no problem otherwise recognizing my reader even though my Windows 7 desktop won't) and open up Calibre nothing happens. I can download books into CAlibre off the Internet, but I can't see the fuller (including purchased) content of my reader.

Can someone suggest what might possibly be the problem here? Many thanks.

Do you mean that the reader does not show as a drive in Windows Explorer? If that's the case, your problem is with your PC, not Calibre.

Double check to make sure you have the most recent version of Calibre. I had a version from 9/2010 and it would not recognize my 950. It had an option for Daily Reader, but at that time it was the 900 that was only known as the Daily Reader.
