But you're definitely right: 2GB is a bad joke. Yes, text books don't consume much space. But why shouldn't I be able to take all my Dilbert cartoons, officially bought from Amazon, with me? Why is there no optional 4GB or 8GB model? Or what would be the uplift for another 2GB anyway? I wouldn't want an SD card, though. A few 64GB Micro SD cards already have died on me and I simply don't like the housing being "cut off" for an insertion slit, it simply disturbs the flow... And: The updates are about 200MB. I permanently have to delete a few dozen books, to make the update and then reload the books... And: Why don't they show the size of the books in my library? So I easily could delete the biggest ones instead of deleting a few books and then manually checking the available space again... Still: I've got Kobo Aura HD and Nook GlowLight, but my Paperwhite 2 kills them all... Last edited by mgmueller; 06-19-2014 at 05:50 PM. |

I want an SD card...not an option on any of the newer Kindles, but it would be a consideration if anyone ever made it available. Not that I am giving up my 3g keyboard anytime soon.

You can always see the size of individual books when connected via USB. Just use Windows Explorer (or whatever the Mac equivalent is), and tell it to show details. You will see the size of each book.

Good point about the updates. I hadn't even considered that, and there was an update not long ago to the Paperwhite. It would be in Amazon's best interest to put huge storage space on their ereaders, after all, they want to sell plenty of content.
Re 3g Keyboard: I sold mine last month, and I wondered at the time if I would end up regretting it, I'm starting to have pangs of regret already. It certainly makes me glad I have held onto my nook simple touch with the sdcard slot. |

Are you sure you're PW was actually low on storage memory? Sometimes when opening larger or complex PDF files, the PW will slow down quite a bit and this can also cause it to display a message about "low memory" and not being able to open the file.
If this is the case, a reboot might help. See this thread: https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=205546 |

More memory is not the feature that will drive more sales why should Amazon drive up the price of all Kindles for the sake of the handful that would use the extra space? Last edited by eschwartz; 06-20-2014 at 12:12 AM. |

It's not clear why Amazon could not offer the 4GB Paperwhite model here as well as in Japan. They could probably charge $150 here for it.

You really need to go to one of the companies catering for more specialist demands, like Pocketbook or Onyx, if you want this kind of thing. |

Or I can check the book description on the website. But if my Reader claims "no more space available", I'd rather see the size of the books directly on the reader, since I manually have to delete from there. |

I would recommend to get PB Touch Lux 623 instead of PB Touch Lux2 626.
626 doesn't have headphone jack, so it can't do TTS and I have read too many complaints about firmware and build quality on my local (European) forum. |
