iTunes U
I was just reading this article about free educational epub textbooks available via iTunes.
http://news.cnet.com/8301-13579_3-20...=2547-1_3-0-20 So, does anyone know how to access this free material without having to install the bloatware known as iTunes? I find it rather annoying that such "free" material is only available via a proprietary channel. More so, since they are using the epub open standard. Hey, universities! Pull off your 20th century blinders and get with the program! Joe |

Most of the universities on iTunes provide stuff on their own websites but you'd have to check about the ebooks. If you search for 'open courseware' you'll find lots of information and media.

I'm told the Open University's ebooks are going to be available on our OpenLearn open educational resources website (http://www.open.ac.uk/openlearn/) as well as through iTunes U. This is planned to happen by the end of the year.
Note: this is not an official statement by the OU; I just happen to work near someone involved in the project Andrew |
