iLiad on eBay

There's now an iLiad on eBay.de - for 900 Euros! (And the seller is a newbie with 0 ratings.)

900 Euro --- on what planet do they live?

On the other hand, that makes an invite worth what? Up to 250 Euro? ;=)

"Lieferung 7-14 Tage nach Bestellung."

Shipping 7-14 days after order. In other words, he/she is waiting like everyone else here.

so...is the seller one of us? Or is he/she really a fraud and doesn't plan on selling at all?

Oh...I just saw that this person is offering his phone number for questions...so I guess it'll be more or less genuine.
Would be interesting to see whether anyone buys...^^

Maybe this is the first of the b2b guys going resale...

Well it's very possibly someone who received an invite and ordered it just to sell it again for a profit via eBay. Or it is an iRex employee in disguise trying to make some extra bucks

To me, it didn't look like I'm limited to order just one device. I assumed the invitation makes you a "B2B customer" for them and opens the web shop for everything.

Especially ordering 50000 items, because that's what they want, right? Has anybody actually tried ordering more than one?

well I certainly haven't ordered more than one for that amount of money...^^

But I've thought about that too. I guess most b2b customers wouldn't have ordered large amounts yet because they're still trying to evaluate the device, but large orders are surely part of iRex's business idea. They write on their webstie that you can order customized devices, but that only 10% of the device you order can be custom or something along those lines...that would mean you have to order at least 10 if you have special wishes...:-)

Have had a look at the details, the people selling the device are from a private job agency (obviously not updating their website too often). They are located in the north eastern part of the ruhr area (almost "Münsterland" ) . I wouldn't give them even the normal price to buy me a device.

Cheers,
Frank

Googling for "PA-Haritz" (visible at the end of the conditions of the auction text) leads to http://pa-haritz.de/ which seems indeed to be a recruitment agency. A link on this site leads to http://www.mediaschulung.de, maybe somekind of subsidary dealing with media development training. So the auction does have a connection to e-media, at least on the second glance...

This looks like a single person company doing local recruitment and a second company to be able to earn enough money for a living.
I see no sinister connections.

well 900€ for an Iliad seems sinister enough...

Occams razor: Do not search for sinister plots where simple idiocy is an ample explanation.

There is now a second Iliad from the same seller on ebay...lol...same price...nobody bought the first...and he doesn't even put a pointer up that says that the device software is still beta...I hope somebody buys and then sues him for selling unfinished devices for way beyond normal price.
If ebay had a "comments" section for the offerings, I'd post a few choice phrases about that offer...^^
