Pretty sure to get the app direct from amazon you have to have their "appstore" app with all it's phone-home goodness. No thanks
but thanks to a friendly MR'r, I have a copy. |

touche, kenny. Gonna keep my Pandigital pure, though.
Rock, if you're rooted you can use root explorer to change the sdk to 8 in the build.prop file and you'll be set. Probably not worth it for Kindle, but well worth it for other apps. (I think maybe you need the volume key hack to get to the menu on this one though--not sure) This new version worked on the Pandigital, but when I sideloaded another book, no books showed up: the sample books disappeared and the sideloaded one did not show up. |

After tried both (Kindle for iOs and Kindle for Android) and actually own both type of devices, I should say the Kindle app. on Apple runs better and looks better. Ironically, the restricted rules on iOs are probably are some of the reasons for that stability.
I've experienced several crashes recently when using Kindle on my Galaxy Tab. Let's see if this new update will improve stability as well. But good if they have included a local dictionary now, that is a really good thing and major accomplishment But overall, I'm happy that people from "both worlds", can enjoy and use their Kindle ebooks. Hope that does not change soon. --update-- Interesting ... the dictionary is not part of the upgrade. The upgrade gives you the ability to download it later, when trying to get the meaning of any word. I wonder if we can choose different dictionaries or even buy a good one instead.
