Note from our Member Palo: (Regarding resetting your reader: The stylus of the 600 has a built-in resetting tool. Unscrew the grey part of the stylus to find the right size tool, not that a pin or paperclip won't work but why take the chance of damage.

btw be very careful not to cross-thread the grey piece when screwing it back together or YOU will be screwed

Thanks for reminding me that I need to update the Sony Reader Troubleshooting Guide on MR's Wiki. Need to add the x50 model Readers.

Note: There is no reset tip built into the PRS950 stylus.

Even my PRS600 has it, for a flagship $300USD PRS950, WHAT WAS SONY THINKING ??!??!

Here is the reset process that Sony Support walked me through when my PRS-650 recently locked up (when I couldn't get past step 2 of the above instructions) :

Reset the Reader by pressing the Reset hole (1) with a small pin or clip.

After 5 seconds, slide the Power switch 3 times to restart the Reader.

This may be a soft reset option...I don't know for sure as I keep my books on an SD card, but it looks like the Sort order display settings I changed are still set
