Yes, you hook it up to your wifi or to wired network and you can find radio stations through the menu. If you can't find your favourite radio station in the menu you can add the URL online. However, with Logitech's radio's everything goes through their servers and when their servers are down there's no radio.
The Squeezebox Radio can also stream music from a computer on the network but even that wasn't working during the outage. I think Sonos also has their own servers but for other brands it's hard to find if they connect directly to an online radio service (like Tunein) or if it goes through their own servers. |

The wife and I just got back from voting. We stood in line over an hour and my sciatic nerve is killing me, and my wife's back is hurting her. There should be a better way for old folks to vote. I'm not saying who I voted for, since that knowledge has no business being spoken outside of the opt-in Politics and Religion forum, but I will give you all a hint. My candidate's mother was Caucasian.

I am astonished that there should be any significant delays at polling stations. I can only assume it's the move to high-tech 'solutions' which mean that the number of polling stations is reduced.
In the UK with paper ballots, there are lots of (low-tech) polling stations and voting is on the day of the election from 7am to 10pm. I've never had to queue at a polling station. If there is ever any problem, it's big news in the UK. Counting starts almost immediately that polls have closed, and the results come in overnight as counting is carried out. There's an interesting live blog of the UK 2010 results here. First result was announced at 10.55pm, 55 minutes after the polls closed. Second result came in at 11.30pm. 120 results were in by 2.40am, 250 by 3.45am, and over half the results by 4.45am, and over 500 (out of 650) by 6 am. |

Part of the problem, at least that I saw, is that people were waiting for the electronic stations. There was a decent line there. I went with the paper ballot and was done in a few minutes. The line for the electronic booths was growing really fast. It is a more time consuming process. There were monitors there as well, which was weird.

For transparency voters can come in and watch while we're counting. They are welcome to ask questions, though we are not supposed to get into political discussions. Most of the time the counting will be done by 2.00 in the morning. BTW: there used to be a sign in the polling station saying ' not to lick the pencil' (for fear of contagious diseases). In our city, we've gone back to paper ballots.
