There's a paradoxical injunction. If it's a gift then how can one steal it?

An ebook containing a section on surviving in a homeless situation would be more like it. Lotta reasons to be homeless. Most don't involve the common image of people in bathrobes mumbling randomly while pushing their scavenged shopping cart. I've known more than a few homeless who still had laptops and email even though they had no actual address or food security.
Though if you consider what this book is for, it makes more sense than if you just consider one part of it. (One of my favorites so I'm biased. Always found myself strongly agreeing/disagreeing/confused by it's contents so it fits well into my "let me think about this a bit" category.) Come to think of it, always liked the Anarchists Cookbook too. Different reason though. (More of an "evolution in action" thing there. Swear that thing was written to supply a steady stream of Darwin prize winners among the violent and foolish.) |

It's not an ebook about how to be homeless. It's a counter-culture book (or rather, an update of a rather famous counter-culture book first published decades ago). Read the table of contents at the wiki for more info.
As for homeless access to ebooks, not everyone uses a snazzy dedicated e ink reader. Public libraries often provide internet access. Publishing the book online, free, means that the authors (updaters) don't have to worry about getting libraries to carry it. They just need to work to get the word out to those who can make use of the info they provide. |
