Good, free fonts to use in an ebook

Pocketbook readers have the lovely trait of allowing users to install their own fonts and use them for both FBReader (natively) and ADE (through a hack). However, being no typographist myself, I'd like to inquire about what fonts you use for your reading. In the selfish side, that would allow me to find a handsome font for my reader, and thinking less egocentrically (a hard thing for moi

), this could even work as a recopilatory of good free fonts for everyone to use.

What are the free fonts you like best?

I use Arial, which is a Helvetica clone that comes free with Windows.

Google released 18 free, open source webfonts - http://code.google.com/webfonts
They mention you can download them as well, but I don't see them:

The Droid family is very nice. I also quite like Gentium.

Select the font, click the ttf file, then click view raw file on the bottom right.

Windows comes with a large assortment of TrueType fonts. Skewed a bit much towards the sans serif side but still pretty good.
My font of choice (despite trying Droid, Gentium, and most of the others suggested around here) remains Georgia. It's simply a wee bit darker than the others especially at the size I prefer.
For the PB360 interface font I favor Century Schoolbook and Lucida.
Just a tad taller at a given font size and since I favor the "Easy" bookshelf view on the PB360, they make the listings even clearer than other fonts.
Don't know how easy it is to get these days, but the old-time BITSTREAM TRUETYPE FONT PACK CD had a lot of premium-quality fonts for US$20 in the Win95 days. I found mine the other day and I spent a few hours checking out the various serif fonts in the deal. Lots of nice ones.
But I still ended up back with Georgia.

I like/use Comic Sans MS, which I got from Windows. I also like Andika, which is a font specifically designed for literacy. Very readable.

I just like sans serif fonts - easier on my eyes.
