Many many people predicted the iPhone would fail. I was one who decided it was the way of the future and bought one of the first as soon as I could get one, went though the agonies of the jailbreaks which took hours, not minutes, and loved that phone to bits. I still have it, and still use it from time to time, even though its stuck on iOS3x.
I wonder how those idiot pundits feel now... just a bit redfaced, perhaps. |

Yes, followed by the failure of the "giant iPhone," the iPad. Stupid name, and who needs one anyway???

Its amazing at how much difference 5 years can do.. Apple sits on 73% of the profits in the smartphone business, which says something..

Yes, I liked the "too early to dump your Nokia shares bit". Let's see, early 2007 a Nokia share was worth $30ish, compared with an Apple share at $100. Today? Nokia at three bucks and Apple at $600. Hmm, great advice there...

IIm on my 3rd Iphone. To be honest it fails quite a bit (at least once a month), but then its bbecause i never reset it, turn it off or quit applications I have not used in two weeks.
but as a concept, I dont think it failed. Look how many Copycat Smartphones and tablets are out their! It does help that they released the user interface on the touch, long before the 1st Iphone was released, so it had ironed out some of the major bugs by then! |
