This reader is at best an early prototype and at worst a dummy with only a working screen. So there's no use wondering about a price!

Also check out the following:
I am a little disheartened that they're only showing a demo in this video, and no real product. Last edited by LDBoblo; 01-07-2010 at 05:19 AM. |

Look like impressing, but the upper right corner is dead (look at the part that stay black) (and some parts of the left border are dead too, but in white )
I doubt they are ready for mass production.. But who knows ? |

I don't like the way the pages flip up. That I think will get a bit annoying.

I'd hope that any software developer who decides to add what they think is a sexy page-turn transition will offer options to turn it off. That's just a personal hope, though. |

I don't know. The unnatural page turns are kind of freaking me out. It's very cool but the page turns bug me.

There is something really odd about that demo.

At least there's a prototype. I wonder if it's a prototype or just a conceptual mockup. I'm also curious about their decision to jump straight for color.
Also, it seems like conventions always attract some of the worst photographers in the world, except the ones with lots of scantily clad models. |

Small explaination of the technology.
Hi, since I'm right next to their booth and they are pretty friendly, they explained a little to me.
First of all, it is NOT e-ink. It's a normal, almost LCD like display that displays up to 4 level gray scale. However it still does not have a backlight (this is the cool part) because it uses a new reflective technology to get rid of the backlighting. Now the display quality is not that great but it's still, honestly, pretty cool. |
