Its an attempt to monitor high-quality sf/f books in the kindle store. As ebooks go this is as good as it gets.

Typically we are seeing 3-4 books a month being added from the master list of awarded works.

Ok four books this month from the awards list:
1) "Rollback" by Robert J. Sawyer
2) "Moreta: Dragonlady of Pern" by Anne McCaffrey
3) "The Three Stigmata of Palmer Eldritch" by Philip K. Dick
4) "Deathworld" by Harry Harrison (~$3.50)

Nice to see more PKD books, but I thought I saw it listed at $10.00 (!)

btw, I dl'ed "The Accidental Time Machine last week and just finished it. Very good book.

Dune is no longer for sale. I heard they pulled it for quality issues, formatting and some missing passages.

Overall I'm dissappointed in the sf/fantasy titles that are available on Kindle. This is a genre that preaches to the ebook choir after all! David Weber has 2 books coming out, one on Monday, and one in July, both as pb's.

It's also frustrating that series are coming out randomly. Not all together and not in order.

His Safehold series is published by Tor, and the 3rd in the series probably will be available on the Kindle in July (the Kindle store tends not to have many pre-release entries). As igorsk said, most of his other books are published by Baen and so are available directly from the publisher (http://www.webscription.net) as DRM-free ebooks.

Are the bookstores going to give away all of the free Nebula and Hugo nominess like they did last year? I really loaded up on lots of good books during that promotion.

What bookstore did that???

ps - based on your sig, just FYI lots of Silverberg books in the kindle store, including many that were out of print:

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/se...t%20Silverberg

you can even buy novellas. "Born with the Dead" is only $2.30 or so

Seems like those "free" books cost you $50:

http://www.thehugoawards.org/?p=143

But the short stores are available for free, usually:

Well an odd thing.. this month saw NO additions. In fact, it looks like we lost a few? I did confirm that Dune is now back.

But how did The lion the witch and the warddrobe get authored by Pauline Baynes? Go ahead and search on "C. S. Lewis" in kindle books and you won't even FIND this book:

http://www.amazon.com/Lion-Witch-War...8461782&sr=1-1

And for another, what happened to Asimov's "Pebble in the Sky"? It was there since Oct '08!

There is some kind of reshuffling of the deck going on in their database.

The weirdest thing is that it says in the editorial review that it is an audio book. On the ebookstore the author is listed as C.S. Lewis and Pauline Banes, who I presume is the illustrator.

I can see the point there; if you don't have at least a supporting membership to WorldCon, you can't vote for the Hugos; distributing the nominees as free ebooks to the voters lets them read all the nominated works and make a more informed choice among them in each category.
