Calibre and Cinnamon 2.8 Desktop

Cinnamon 2.8 Desktop for Linux was released on November 2, this will be the desktop gui in Cinnamon Mint 17.3 to be released at the end of the month. If using Cinnamon Mint use these instructions to get it now or wait for the system update. Other distro's here is the instructions for Ubuntu with the ppa's.
  1. Running calibre in tray now works.
  2. Starting calibre with the command calibre --start-in-tray works.
  3. System themes now works.
  4. The editor now displays rock solid using calibre theme, still has problems using system theme.( see screenshot using calibre theme)

In Calibre under Mint 17.3, does the mouse cursor stay "proper" when hovering over the menu buttons at the top of the screen?

Using the main calibre gui i have a left pointing hand when hovering over menu buttons or any place that can be clicked.

Funny but the screenshot shows an arrow.

Using the editor I have a arrow at on every thing but the donate to calibre icon.

OK. Thanks for checking it out. Also, it looks like I mis-spoke (mis-typed?) earlier when I asked about 17.3. Are you running Mint 17.3 or just 17.2 with Cinnamon 2.8?

EDIT: Kovid's bug report on the issue over in the QT area also mentioned that screenshots show the correct mouse pointer even though that's not what shows up to us mere mortals.

It appears ArchLinux hasn't gotten the Cinnamon update yet.

Sounds nice though.

I am using Mint 17.2.

I remember reading the bug report, I hope it will be resolved by the LXQT team.

I am surprised that it is not in Arch yet.
It is mostly bug fixes and little enhancements. See this post.
