Kindle should have a talking (pronunciation) dictionary
Sorry, I can never figure out those pronunciation guide. Just talk to me, baby.
It wouldn't add too much bulk to the firmware. The M-W dictionary with voice pronunciation for the iPad is only a 20M download, for example. |

Which accent - the horrible Americanism of semeye for semi, a nice Oirish accent for bejaysus or a Cockney accent for gawd blimey Gov'ner?
Maybe you need one of these? http://www.babble.com/CS/blogs/strol..._no_shadow.jpg |

Why not just spend five minutes learning the phonetic alphabet. The default Kindle dictionary uses the IPA (International Phonetic Alphabet) which is alsoo used by many printed dictionaries and some on-line resources like Wikipedia.
It's easy to learn, and once you've done so, you will be able to see the pronounciation of any work right from the dictionary page. |

Five minutes? I think not. In any case, it has speakers, it has text to speech, I agree it would be nice to have a talking dictionary.

I wouldn't mind seeing (hearing, rather) a talking dictionary. It would be a nice feature to have.

Seriously, as an add on yes but I would not want this using up my scant enough memory. |
