iLiad just another newby

Hi all,
Last year I, finally, to got me a ereader (Sony) and enjoying it a lot. However recently i got hold of a Irex Iliad. It has it's battery replaced by a larger one, using this article, https://www.mobileread.com/forums/showthread.php?t=30794. But still the battery does last long. I read about the powermanager issues.
It seems to me that I somehow need to logon to the Irex ... my question is how ?
Reading the manual and googling, I imagine this goes via IDS ... or not ???
However írextechnologies.com is no longer available .

I got the network settings confiured (ip-address) for my local lan, but after hitting the connection key it seemingly connects to Írex ... and hangs so it seems.
So, if I can, how can I logon to my Irex ?

Which steps do I need to go through ?
I have unix/linux background ... but am a Irex-newby .
