If you long press on a file in es, I think one of the options is properties and then you can change permissions. 644 means:
owner: read and write permissions, group: only read permissions, others: only read permissions. |

I'm pretty sure that step is optional. Not sure if/how you can change the owner in es (if you could, I expect it would be from that properties dialogue). If you really want to do this, you can do it from a shell with connectbot.
