Recommendation for basic scanning software (non OCR)
I'm about to convert a bunch of university notes to scanned PDFs (based on scanned images). Most of the notes are equations so OCR isn't an option and the scanned images will be put together in a PDF.
I'm using a HP scanjet 5550c with 50 sheet ADF (TWAIN driver) which works fine but when quickly testing it out on some basic software quite often the image isn't aligned correctly and creases from the paper quite oftern appear. Could anyone recommend some scanning software that could remove these issues automatically ie, auto align the image after scanning. (It should be fairly easy most of the scanned pages are on lined pages) and also to automatically remove creases etc... if possible. (If the software could save in TIFF and then covert to PDF that a bonus, but it's easy enough to get something else to do that if need be. I will be scanning at 300dpi mostly black and white with 5-10% some colour) Thanks. |

In case anyone else may found this useful. I found this software which is pretty good, auto deskew, autocrop and quite a lot of other features see here:
