On Tom's Hardware page you find an interesting article on LCD displays and the fact that there are still no real specification available (how many dead pixels does it take before the manufacturers agree to replace a monitor).

Very interesting read.

My special interest belongs to Sony and here is what it says about Sony:

Sony is one of the few exceptions: they follow the ISO standard, they understand it and they apply it.
