Clara HD Light Bleed

I was recently gifted a clara hd and a friend told me it has light bleed around the bottom half. I can't tell either way. Does it have light bleed?

I would say so yes. I bought a Clara this year and it doesn't have that.

A free Kobo Clara with some light bleed is still very nice. I wish I had a friend who had given me one

I can now that my eyes have adjusted to it. I own a kindle already, so I'll regift the Kobo as I don't need it.

Mine doesn't have those strips of light showing at the sides of the screen, even if I turn up the brightness in a dark room.

Is your set on the BLUE lights? Blue lights are the only ones I noticed it on. When you look down on the lights the Blue lights are last on the strip. Right on the edge.

Light Bleed is where the lights come off the sides at a Sharpe Point. Not Soft like shown in the picture.

Ok I will! lol I remembered the site called openlibrary which I have always wanted to borrow from as it has older and out of date books and only pdf and epub. Now I can read the epubs!

Does it make a difference if I turn the natural light function off?

Since I Hate the orange/red lights I have the auto turned OFF. & Adjust the lights to My settings.

Ultimately what matters is whether the way the screen looks bothers YOU. If you can read on it comfortably then don't worry about whether it is "light bleed" or not.

I tried the auto light setting when I first got my reader and didn't like it. I prefer to manually set it more toward blue in the daytime and somewhere in the middle at night. Everyone's eyes are different, so experiment with it and see what you prefer.
