Darwin, Charles: On the Origin of Species. V1. 14 Oct 2012
This is the first edition, which is considered definitive today. In the subsequent five editions Darwin gave completely unwarrented ground to both scientific objections against the primacy of the process of natural selection and religious demands for references to 'the Creator' to be inserted into the text. The first edition presents Darwin's arguments in their clearest, least adulterated form; basically, he got it right first time round.
The text, from Project Gutenberg, has been smartened up, had a TOC produced, had its CSS and markup tamed, and a higher definition image of the book's only diagram has been included.
The Descent of Man
The Expression of the Emotions in Man and Animals
