Conversion oddity

I just loaded an epub into Calibre and made a mobi. I put the TOC at the top and did not set H1 for it.

The TOC was all there (41 chapter entries) in the output, but the first 9 entries in the TOC are dead as a door nail.

Isn't this kind of weird?

You should check if the links of the TOC work in the epub. If they are broken there too, you should fix them in the epub.

Calibre can fix some problems during conversion, but mostly it's 'Garbage in, garbage out'.

The epub works fine in the Calibre reader (I don't have any other epub reader). That's why it's weird.
