Hippocrates: Collected Works, v.1, 26 June 2008.

Hippocrates of Cos (ca. 460 BC – ca. 370 BC) Collected Works.
Translated by Dr. Francis Adams (1796–1861).

There are about 70 works in the Hippocratic corpus. Many of them are actually by his students. This translation, by a Scottish doctor collects the ones most likely to be by Hippocrates himself. It includes the Hippocratic Oath.

From the Aphorisms:
‘Life is short, and Art long; the crisis fleeting; experience perilous, and decision difficult. The physician must not only be prepared to do what is right himself, but also to make the patient, the attendants, and externals cooperate.’
