Post iBooks/Stanza/PDFReaderLite: Zooming pdfs in landscape mode

Hello!
Been a happy owner of an iPod touch 4g for the last few weeks!
Have tried Stanza, iBooks and PDF Reader lite for reading pdfs.

Face this issue:
- In landscape mode, - which is almost always required with pdfs, i have to zoom to get a comfortable font size.
- But none of the above apps do it automatically.
- In stanza: pinch and drag for every page.
- In iBooks: Double tap in page center. Doesn't work on all pdfs though - have to use pinch and drag for such.
- In pdf reader lite: "+", "-" buttons or pinch and drag.
- The iBooks option seems the best, involving the least effort.

Are there any other alternatives with these readers? Surprising that stanza, with its multiple features doesn't have an easy option or am i missing something?

Ideal would be a configurable option which automatically zooms the page to the text margins in landscape mode, and which is also persistent for each page. Some of the paid apps seem to have this.

You might try GoodReader. It has a reflow mode (where you can adjust text size), margin cropping, PDF link support and much more. In non-reflow mode, it does maintain the cropping margins you define from page to page.

The only app that can view Adobe DRM PDF's at all on iOS that I know of is Bluefire, if that's a requirement for you. It's not a great reading experience (doesn't allow you to set cropping margins that persist, and frankly seems to have performance issues), but it's good to have the option available when you need it (e.g. U of Chicago Press has a free ebook every month, often in PDF format, but they are DRMed, so I use Bluefire for these).
