EPUB not readable on IPAD
Hello,
I have been experimenting using Calibre to convert a pdf book of mines into EPUB format to later on submit it to Amazon shop. well the validation of the format (I converted it into azw3) was OK. I then tried to import the ebook into my IPAD and tried to read it through Kindle app or goodreader but no joy. it is all blank?!?!?!? any idea where the problem is? thanks in advance Imbu |

The Kindle app on the iPad does not handle KF8/AZW3.
Since it is your eBook, why are you starting with PDF as a format? That's one of the worst things you can do. No ePub of novel length will convert with any program without errors. |

I would not appreciate it when I buy a book on Amazon to find out it is a PDF converted by Calibre...

If you must start with a PDF, as they said the very worst source, use mobipocket creator to convert the PDF to HTML, then load that HTML into sigil to fix the inevitable errors and finish it up without all the extra junk added by calibre. If you do that, break it into sections for each chapter to make sure it loads and plays well in devices.

Agreed on how bad it is, but for me OCRed PDF is often the only source. Also agreed on how easy it is think that a word should be one thing, but in fact there are more plausible mistakes and a whole section is just dead wrong, changing the meaning.
But presumably a newbie is not wading into such error-shark infested waters. |
