I don't think we should weigh the club down with all sorts of rules. Trust people to nominate a good book, and then vote for the one you want and don't vote for the other ones.

Yes, Discworld does need to be read in order. There are a lot of in-jokes you won't get unless you read the previous books.

You should, it's awesome, and only $7 in mass market in most bookstores. If it wins, I'll just read the second, "The Long Dark Tea-Time of the Soul."

Since nobody seconded or thirded my nom (*sigh*) I think I'm going to back "Confederacy of Dunces." I've been wanting to read that. Topper sounds good too though.

Yes it does. I have no problem with alternative lifestyles and I don't care about the orientation of the author. But, the fact remains that gay literature just isn't my thing. I also don't like sci fi or fantasy. Simple as that.
