I haven't been able to duplicate this bug after trying various things like doing it with PDF, ePub, and Journal; rebooting with the orientation that way (e-ink on the right) then testing. Closing the LCD in landscape ...

Which means nothing if it's an occasional event. I normally keep the default orientation with the LCD on the right so chances are I wouldn't see it if it's not happening frequently.
