Vanna White's Autobiography
Has anyone ever read this book? I only ask because Dorothy (Bea Arthur - see avatar to the left) on the Golden Girls brings up this book as a 'hell of a read.'
I am in my 40s and I don't know anyone who read it in the 80s. |

I worked in a bookstore when it was published. I didn' t read it but I did look at the pictures. I recall that the print was rather large

I've never even heard of "Vanna White". Who is she? (I assume it's a "she"?)

A better question might be "Why would anyone read it?"

I remember when the book came out, Vanna was interviewed. She was unable to remember the last book she had read!
Around 1986, I was at a convention in Las Vegas, and Vanna walked right by me. I felt that she was an attractive woman, but not nearly so good looking that she should have gotten into her head the idea that she should move to Hollywood to find fame and fortune. But I guess she did all right! By the way, the book was called Vanna Speaks. http://www.amazon.com/Vanna-Speaks-W...+autobiography |

For years, after she got started on The Wheel of Fortune, she did not utter a sound. She was there as eye candy and just flipped the letters. So, it is appropriate that the title of the book would be Vanna Speaks.
