Kindle, Calibre and Archived Books
Hi:
I use Calibre to manage my library, in doing so I change the titles to match my naming convention. In the last few days I have about 62 books that both the Kindle and K4PC are saying are in my archives but are in fact on both the kindle and in the K4PC directory. Is there any way to get Amazon to stop showing these books as being in my archive and recognize that they are on the device?? |

Amazon stores a copy of all books you have purchased from them - and keeps them in the archives (= on the Amazon servers). This copy remains "in the archives" no matter how many devices you download the book onto, unless you specifically delete the book from your account.

I don't think I explained my point. If the book is on the kindle it should not be showing up in the Archives on the kindle, the same for K4PC. This is only happening for specific books, so my question is, what is it about these books that suddenly they are now showing up as being on the device?

I can't answer the question but could your issue be that you have "renamed" items in your conventional methods but that those "new names" do not match what Amazon uses for archiving purposes? Maybe the Calibre forum can help.

It is because you have renamed them in some way. It's just something you have to accept, I do the same thing myself

If that is the case, why is it only showing 61 out of 372 as archive items? Also, I should mention I have been using Calibre for months to change the files names and I only started having this problem this week. And this is on books that I have not changed and they were fine before.
