Touch Is it better to us SD than internal memory?

My touch is almost a year old. No problems with it so far. I store my books on my internal memory. I've read some people saying its better to use SD instead (I don't need the extra room, only keep a few books at a time).

Is it "safer" to have them on SD (less crashes or problems)?

No I don't think so. I think the people saying storing your books on an SD card is better mean it's 'better' for when you run into firmware related problems and have to factory reset. If something goes wrong with your Kobo Touch and you have to reset, it's a huge nuisance to have to put all your books back on afterwards (all your sideloaded books that is; the Kobo books sync back automatically). If you have all your sideloaded books on an SD card, all you have to do is take your SD card out, reset the KT and put your SD card back in.

But since the upcoming firmware is quite stable, I'd say don't bother transferring everything to SD card.

The only advantage to the SD card is that your books are easily transferred if you get another reader, and you won't lose your collection if you're forced to reset your Kobo for whatever reason. I've never had to reset mine, so I've been fine keeping my library stored in the KT's internal memory (and, of course, all my books are also stored on my computer hard drive).

Do remember that not all SD cards work properly in the Touch. I have access to 3 and among other things, with any of them in the Touch it will not sleep; it enters sleep and then 4 seconds later wakes up.

Yes... have tried suggestions to reformat them to no success.

In addition to prior answers.
SD card uses a little more power and is slower to access depending on firmware version.
Easy to wipe all books from SD card with full overwrite format using this program.
